Hello from Topeka, Kansas, I’m Yolande — a new and evolving photographer drawn to special moments, honest expressions, and the small details that reveal a story. Whether I’m at the zoo, out in nature, or photographing people I care about, I search for the connection between photos and words; where the elements of an image evoke emotion on their own, and where that story is enriched by the written narrative. As I explore my photographic style, my goal is to show the quiet truth in each moment captured with light.

As I continue learning and growing, photography has become a way for me to slow down and pay attention — to notice the quiet beauty in ordinary places and the unexpected stories hidden in everyday life. Each image is part exploration and part reflection, a way of understanding where I’ve been and what I’ve seen. I’m still evolving, still discovering what feels true to me, but every photograph is a step forward in that journey, shaped by curiosity, gratitude, and the desire to honor the moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.
“Follow the thread between light and language —
where a photograph stirs something true,
and the written narrative gently completes
the feeling it began.”
